Job Title: Tennis Director- 
Genesis Health Clubs-  is seeking future Tennis Director Candidates who are high energy, hardworking, ambitious, STRONG PROGRAMMER-PROMOTER, GROWER OF TENNIS,  great personality, and passionate.  We are looking to expand in the future and would like to vet out all potential candidates.  This is a confidential search.    FULL TIME TENNIS DIRECTOR who is ready to lead in a dynamic tennis environment- as a progressively growing company we are interested in networking and having a conversation with leaders who might be interested in being a Tennis Director- our clubs range from 3 court to 16 court facilities.  Genesis Health Clubs has 56 health clubs of which there are 15 tennis clubs with a total of 138 tennis courts (indoor/outdoor), over 89 tennis professionals, who deliver diverse tennis programming that impacts a very large tennis / health-wellness audience. Under the direction of the National Tennis Director, the Tennis Director main focus is to GROW TENNIS- by growing their professional team in # of pros, bettering each professional, and delivering high energy programming.   The Tennis Director administers the policies, procedures and programs of the Club relating to Tennis. This position supervises all tennis professionals, manages the tennis facilities, and works with all club departments. The Tennis Director is responsible for staff supervision and scheduling, budget accountability, programming, promoting & communicating, providing a broad offering of private and group instructional opportunities, and maximizing member’s access to and enjoyment of the tennis and the entire club. The general roles and responsibilities of the Tennis Director include the following:• Being a passionate and inspirational  ambassador and advocate for tennis with the ability to require the same from each member of the tennis staff.• Enthusiastically encourage member participation by planning events to promote the sport. Organize, schedule and manage tournaments, clinics, social events, and other tennis related activities.• Create, develop, and execute a cadre of programming options for young to older adults.  This is a must for this position. You will have to teach your own lessons – however your overall focus and intention must be on the growth of the overall program – from participation to revenue generation. • Provide private and group lessons to both adults and children, as well as oversee lessons taught by all staff professionals.• New player programming for adults and youth will be key for success in this position.  This includes Cardio Tennis, Play Tennis Fast for adults, and Net Generation for Youth.    
  • Prepare tennis promotional items, events, programs that are communicated through all effective communication paths – phone calls, email, text, social media, face to face promotions, etc that get results. 
    • Responsible for the annual budget process, monthly financial performance and bi-weekly payroll management.
    • Responsible for the court playing environment from a safety and cleanliness experience.

Responsibilities 

Supervise your team of employees

  1. Hire and train your team
  2. Have the appropriate number of professionals
  3. Constantly coach your team – goal setting – discipline –motivation
  4. Administer payroll on a timely basis
  5. Maintain personal and management files on your team
  6. Organize and run staff meetings to keep your team informed
  7. Assure that your team follows all the club policies
  8. Monitor court usage

Programming

  1. Professionally run all tennis programs
  2. Create new programs
  3. Make sure the club is represented appropriately and professionally in all tennis literature
  4. Prepare budgets and P/L’s for all programs
  5. Schedule and staff all programs within budgetary guidelines
Facilities 
  1. Keep courts and tennis areas to club standards
  2. Safety is your number on concern
  3. Keep all equipment in good repair

Personal Requirements     

  1. You must be beyond a hard worker – you must be ambitious. You must be driven to exceed goals. You need to be a person who wants yourself, your team, your tennis programs to be the BEST.   
  2. Teach 32-35 hours per week
  3. Be part of the clubs management team
  4. Serve as manager on duty when required

DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/ QUALIFICATIONS:• College degree strongly preferred.• Over 3-5 years of Head Professional or Tennis Director experience or high leadership drive and capabilities.• USPTA and/or PTR Certified, high rating preferred. • Level of Play 4.5+ or college play experience. • Positive, engaging, honest, respectful, dedicated, and caring, with a sincere desire to provide a high level of personalized service. All the things you would expect in a successful professional.  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. High professional skills.
