Position:                            Human Resources Director 
Reports to:                        President

This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Human Resources activities for multi-state health clubs throughout the US. Core functions will include compliance, investigation, employee relations, recruitment, payroll, taxes, benefits, work comp and OSHA. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer and oversee the administration of human resource programs.
  • Provide guidance and support to management across all locations and departments. 
  • Lead and develop HR team and ensure effective operations and service. 
  • Monitor and ensure the organizations compliance with federal, state, and local employment law and regulations.  
  • Oversight and development of Human Resource policies and initiatives.
  • Perform payroll processing for 6,000+ employees, including data entry and distribution.
  • Report and pay all payroll taxes in multiple states.
  • Benefits Administration including deep knowledge of Health Insurance & 401k plans.
  • Report and monitor all workers compensation.
  • Handle disciplinary action including investigations and documentation.
  • Immigration and Visa experience for hiring purposes.
  • Identify staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practice for hiring.
  • Maintain and update all job descriptions.
  • Develop, report, and track appropriate HR metrics.
  • Process and maintain weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
  • Special projects and other assignments as requested.

  • Provide leadership, coaching and development to HR Team
  • Provide input in developing strategies to support goals and objectives
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints
  
Job Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree or better plus 3+ years of recent HR Director experience 
  • Detail oriented
  • High degree of personal discretion
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Sufficient typing skills
  • Customer service oriented  
  
Physical Requirements: 
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to communicate with guests and other associates, including reading, writing and speaking
