This position will be responsible for assisting in all areas of customer service at the Café inside the Genesis Health Clubs.  The Café Attendant is involved in most aspects of day to day operations, such as inventory, sales, and cash handling, while maintaining a high level of customer service at all times.  
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Take orders from customers 
  • Prepare foods requiring short preparation times, sandwiches, salads, shakes, coffee.
  • Responsible for setting up, restocking, and breaking down the food preparation equipment and work areas
  • Restock supplies and rotate food
  • Maintain clean and orderly cash station area
  • Accept payments and issue receipts
  • Responsible for daily register deposits
  • Participate in employee meetings, review, and development
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with members/guest and staff
  • Ensures that all required documentation (daily reports, checklists, etc.) are completed in a timely manner
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

  • Provide input in developing strategies to support café goals and objectives
  • Develop and build a team atmosphere among staff and department
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries
 
Job Requirements: 
  • Available to work weekends and evenings and holidays
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Experience in cash handling and credit cards
  • Customer service abilities
  • Experience managing in the food industry  
 
Physical Requirements: 
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to communicate with guests and other associates, including reading, writing and speaking
