Network Engineer Job Summary:
This position is responsible for building, maintaining, configuring, and supporting network devices of a multi-location national health and fitness organization. You will install, configure, troubleshoot, and support firewalls, switches, routers, and other network devices. Assist the IT team with other department related workloads. Travel to remote locations when needed. This is an in-house, on premises position. Remote work will only be required after hours.
The Network Engineer will:
ü Maintain essential IT operations, including VPNs, network switches, routers, firewalls, and other devices used on the company network.
ü Monitor performance and ensure availability/reliability of networks and connections to remote sites.
ü Configure, install, perform maintenance on network devices and services.
ü Ensure the organization follows all Best Practices concerning technology security
ü Monitor datacenter health and respond to issues as they arise
ü Assist the IT team with other related tasks: maintaining internal infrastructure requirements including: laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates, support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments.
ü Assist and interact with the help desk and other teams in troubleshooting, identify root cause, resolve issues and provide technical support when needed
ü Support internal VOIP technologies (Sip, IAX), including an Asterisk telephony systems (Analog and Digital)
Qualified Candidates:
- Have proven record of hands-on network engineering experience: monitoring, network diagnostics, and using network analyzing tools
- Hold a CCNP, or the quality and quantity of experience to produce equivalent competency; Bachelor’s degree in technology or computer science is preferred
- Possess a deep understanding of network protocols (IPSEC, SSL, SNMP, etc.)
- Possess the ability to solve problems in a stressful situation
- Present a professional appearance and demeanor at all times when representing Genesis Health Clubs; are organized and orderly in their work.
- Have the ability to participate in strategy development to support organization goals and objectives
- Are passionate about building a team atmosphere among the department
Position Reports to: IT Director
Compensation Structure: This position is compensated with a salary wage that is commensurate with applicable experience & professional skillset. Eligible for all Genesis Health Club employee benefits as outlined in the company handbook.
